We just returned from an intensive 3-week business trip to Italy, to plan out a proposed Study Abroad program for Summer 2015. We started in a place that made sense to us: Valle d'Aosta, Italy, high in the Italian Alps, near the border of France and Switzerland.
Here are photos of this quaint little village, the mountains, and our meeting with the Mayor (Sindaco), Bruno Giordano. Shutterfly Photo Album: Valle d'Aosta, Italy Spring 2014
What an incredible trip! I visited five different programs, met three Italian mayors, and mapped out field trips, school visits, and explored possible connections for dinners, lectures, and other cultural activities related to children, education, art, critical thinking, and diversity. I looked at classroom spaces and apartments for students, internet connections, and libraries, looking for the "just right" place for a VSU program.
Keep checking back here for further postings and info on my proposed program for VSU students in The Dewar College of Education & Human Services, and the Honors' College.
I am shooting for early May (2015) for 5 weeks. It will be a journey that enriches your life forever. Buon Viaggio!
